Belly Shots Photographic Studio/Salon Review

A wonderful opportunity was given to me when I was contacted by iParenting to write a review for Belly Shots photo studio/salon. Belly Shots is a photographic studio/salon that offers manicures, makeup and hairstyling, prenatal massage, wardrobe styling, and different photo packages ranging from $295.00 and up. I was contacted by Doug Logan, the owner of Belly Shots, and we set up a date to do the photo shoot. He told me on the phone that the Los Angeles Times and a news station may be at the shoot as well! How exciting!

At 9:30 a.m., I arrived at the photo studio in Venice bright-eyed and well rested. The studio is in a small manufacturing area of Venice, in a numbered building. There is no sign that states the name "Belly Shots," which is very typical for photo studios in Los Angeles. I later found out that Doug shares the studio with other photographers, though we had the studio exclusively for my shoot.

Doug was younger than I thought him to be. He said he got the idea for a pregnancy portrait studio when he took some pictures of his friend's pregnant wife and they turned out wonderful. I was shown his portfolio and it looked as if I was the *most pregnant* pregnant woman he has ever taken pictures of; most of the clients were in their fifth or sixth month. (I was in my 37th week.) Doug also showed me some stylish photo albums that could be purchased for $30.00 and up.
