Heading Toward the Finish Line
Pregnant and Loving It

A few weeks before my due date, my husband and I went to an all-day class at our hospital, which taught us breathing techniques, what to expect once we arrived at the hospital, the various stages of labor and how to bathe a newborn. It was interesting to be in a room for eight hours with people who are all in the same situation as you are and all at about the same stage. Looking around the room, not one person looked as if they weren't afraid or a little nervous about "the big day."
We laughed when the instructor went around the room with a bag of items and asked each of the men to identify them and explain their use. Fortunately, she ran out of items before getting to my husband, which I'm sure was a relief for him. Especially after watching one guy pull a box of Kleenex out and he could not think of one reason why someone would need them. Raging hormones followed by a flood of tears on his wife's part, perhaps? Or the poor guy who pulled a sanitary pad out of the bag and had no clue as to what it was or what it was used for.
