Life to Music
What's the Soundtrack of Your Journey?
By Mark Stackpole
)
After taking a few low-blows (literally and metaphorically), I feel like a champion. Anyone who has suffered through the pain of infertility knows what it is like to feel inadequate, to feel beaten up by the battle against it. Remember that Rocky didn't win that fight at the end of the first movie, but he hung in there and proved something to himself (and everyone around him) about his focus and dedication. No matter how silly, it may sound, I, too, feel like I got a little bit of my dignity restored. "Manhood" is a funny thing with a lot of strange little rules not the least of which is knowing that your equipment can do the job for which it is designed. (Du-du-nah-nah-nah-naaaaaaaah...)
We are now working on our second miracle not bad for one lifetime. For those of you still struggling with infertility, we are living proof that it can happen not only once, but twice, even after the doctors told us to prepare for the worst.
That's my soundtrack, and no matter what's going on for you, I am pretty sure that you have one of your own going whether you need a good laugh or a good cry, the drama of life needs musical accompaniment. And ultimately, everyone needs at least a little miracle every once in a while, with a soaring tune in the background to make sure that no one misses its arrival.
So tell me, what song will be playing when your miracle arrives?
