Fat Trap #2: Not Getting Enough Sleep
Babies love to get up in the middle of the night, and sometimes they need some convincing to go back to sleep. And Mom is most likely the one who gets up for the late-night feedings and comforting. When you're tired, the last thing you want to do is prepare a healthy meal or go for a run. Therefore, in order to avoid exhaustion and leave yourself enough energy to squeeze in a workout, you should always make time for yourself.

"Just because you're a mom and you have a million things to do, realize that you need to step back and make yourself a priority," says Jen Edwards, an AFAA-certified fitness instructor and director of Once Upon a Workout fitness center in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Make time for yourself to relax and rejuvenate by getting a massage or taking a bubble bath.

"If you can't take care of yourself, you can't be the best mom to your kids," Edwards says.
