Tips for Planning a Perfect Babymoon
  • Book travel plans for your fifth or sixth month of pregnancy when you are feeling most radiant.
  • Have a checkup with your obstetrician before going on a babymoon.
  • If you have a high-risk pregnancy, plan a babymoon close to home.
  • If you already have children, arrange to have a family member or trusted friend watch your children for a four-day extended weekend.
  • Make sure your take extra bottled water if you are traveling to destinations out of the country where the water may contain parasites. Make sure the hotel or destination has a good reputation in terms of food preparation and health.
  • Make sure to pack books and DVDs about pregnancy for downtime.
  • Keep a journal and take photographs of the babymoon to include in your baby book. Save mementos for your scrapbooks.
  • Don't take any phone calls other than emergency calls during your babymoon. The point is to bond with your baby's father and reflect on the major milestone in your lives.
  • Enjoy a pregnancy massage. Book one in advance so you can be sure to enjoy the relaxing treat. Consider a couple's massage to spend quiet time together.
  • More on Babymoons
    • Babymoon packages can range in price from $300 to $1,000 per night, depending on the accommodations and location.
    • Hotels may offer babymoon packages or may call them "Baby Me," "Pregnancy Pampering" or "Last Hurrah" packages.
    • Some hotels offer gifts such as a silver baby spoon and fork-set, massage, bib, onesie and baby bag filled with goodies.
    • Many hotels provide moms-to-be with personal prenatal fitness sessions, pregnancy massages and manicures.
    • To satisfy a pregnant woman's cravings, many hotels offer special menus with items such as french fries, fried chicken, pickles and ice cream.
