I recently found out that I am expecting No. 2. My daughter turned 11 months old the same day. Although we were trying, it was a surprise. I wanted a creative way to tell my husband since the last time I simply waved the stick in his face and was in tears when I did not get the reaction that I wanted. After he figured out what was going on he was very excited though.
Anyway, I went to a children's boutique and bought an "I'm a Big Sister" shirt. I took a picture of Lauren wearing the shirt and printed it off along with a few other new pictures. As I am quite the eager amateur photographer, my husband is used to me having several pictures of my daughter to look at when he gets home. I handed him the pictures and he flipped through.
He got to the last picture and read "I'm a big sister" out loud four or five times. It took him a while to get it. He looked up at me with the greatest look of joy on his face and said, "Are you pregnant?" He then gave me a big kiss and a hug and kept saying how excited he was. His reaction was prefect. Much better than last time.
Wish me luck with two under 2!
