After my fiance and I got engaged after four years of dating we were told that there was a 99.9 percent chance that we would never be able to have a baby of our own. I was sad. It was due to health problems that we both had. We both had kidney transplants. We grew up together – that's what brought us together in the first place.
On February 4, 2004, I went for a pregnancy test at the clinic just to see because I was tired all the time. The rest of my blood work was great, but I never had regular menstrual cycles so I never knew by that way. Sure enough the test was positive. I was so shocked.
I went out to the waiting room and told my fiance. He was shocked, but happy. Now we were scared on what effects this would have on the baby since we were both on rejection medication, but so far we have a healthy baby as shown on the ultrasound. So hopefully God will stay on our side.
I am 8 months pregnant and can't wait to meet our little angel. Yes, it's a girl. We couldn't wait! We are still a young couple trying to get through university but I would never change this for the world – and neither would he! She is our blessing!
