Virginia Lenneville from Tualatin, Ore., always had difficult periods as a teen
but didn't know why until years later.
"Later in life, while on the table, a physician casually stated that I have more difficult periods than other women because of my prolapsed uterus," says Lenneville. "I thought, well, what am I supposed to do with that information?"
You can have a successful birth after having a uterine prolapse. |

Other than painful periods, the condition didn't affect her life. She gave birth to two healthy children.
"As far as childbirth goes, one son was born naturally and one C-section," says Lenneville. "I had no complications from either delivery because of my prolapsed uterus. The only effect I can trace is that I have very uncomfortable lower back pain around the time I am to start my period."
Well I have full blown prolapse and 7 months preg. the pregnancy caused to prolapse to lift.
I am so thankful for this article. I am now 9 weeks pregnant and just learned that my cervix was anterior and my uterus is prolapsed. I am prayerful that I wont have to spend the next 20 weeks on bed rest..
well if you want to be a smart ass maybe you should check your info first because women can live with a prolapsed uterus for years before a protrusion occurs, there have also been confirmed cases of no protrusion...but even when there is protrusion it is extremely rare in women young enough to still have children.
Very interesting, although I wonder how it cannot affect beig able to carry a child to full term when your cervix is protruding from your vagina?
