Before I became pregnant, my life revolved around me, looking after me: buying low-fat foods from M&S, only thinking about whether to wear my Gucci stilettos to the next party.
A while before I discovered I was pregnant, I woke up and immediately looked at my huge engagement ring sitting comfortably on my finger, then I suddenly felt sick. I ran to the toilet and vomited. I was quite confused; it wasn't like I'd eaten a dodgy kebab the night before. I was on a strict diet of apples, chicken, broccoli and water (as all I'd ever really thought about was keeping my slim figure), but I soon forgot about it.
The next day my period was due, but it didn't come. I certainly didn't put two and two together and think, oh my God, I must be pregnant! No, instead I put it down to my dieting and thought nothing of it.
The next morning I was sick again, but, not being one to worry, I just thought, "If I ignore it, it will go away," and made my way to work.
