Right now I am 8 months pregnant. I only have six weeks left. Wow! But anyway, on with my story.
I am 17 years old and I had moved into my boyfriend's, who is 19. I moved in with him shortly before my 17th birthday. I was taking birth control but ran out and was a day late on taking my pill. We hesitated on having intercourse, but we decided we would go ahead and take the chance. The next day when I got my pills I started taking them again. A few weeks later I started spotting, so I stopped taking the pill just in case. I thought, oh my, I will wait for my biweekly period and then I will tell him I might be pregnant. Needless to say my biweekly period never came, so I told him.
We decided to wait to see if I started my period the following month. I didn't. So I told my mom and asked her to make me an appointment at the local health clinic for a pregnancy test. It was on the 29th of May. I went, did the urine sample and thought the whole time, "I'm not pregnant. I can't be." Then the RN came out and asked me to come to a room. She told me the test came back positive. I was like OMG. Then, she asked my last menstrual period, and being that I was on the pill, I couldn't really remember my last actual period. I told her when I was spotting and she determined the due date to be January 16, 2004, and gave me a slip saying so. It was a wonderful birthday present.
I went to my mom's, who was getting ready to go on a trip to Kentucky and smiled real big and said, "You're going to be a grandma." She thought I was lying at first, then she was excited. I called my sister who was staying at her boyfriend's house and told her. I felt bad because I told my boyfriend he would be the first to know. But I couldn't hold it back.
