It's finally happened. You're starting to get over your morning sickness and contemplating spreading the news of your impending new arrival to friends and family. But suddenly, a new issue arises. Probably overnight, your waistline seems to be slowly expanding but you still don't look more than a few months pregnant, if that at all. Should you continue to wear jogging pants and loose fitting dresses until you can fully embrace the latest maternity style, or head to the nearest specialty boutique only to find yourself looking like you're wearing a dress that's three sizes too big?
This is a quandary that many expectant women face, typically around the beginning of the second trimester of pregnancy. Luckily, today's moms can sidestep the unflattering and shapeless jumpers and overalls from the 1970s era and choose from stretchy fabrics and designs that can grow with you and your baby throughout the pregnancy. Moms and fashion experts share their creative tips for dressing up the new baby bump in a way that will make you feel glamorous instead of frumpy.

"First of all, stop wearing the tight jeans," says Barbara DesChamps, a wardrobe consultant and author of It's In The Bag: The Complete Guide to Lightweight Travel (Chateau Publishing, 2002) and It's In The Bag: Your Custom Business and Travel Wardrobe (Chateau Publishing, 2007). "You and the little one should be comfortable and healthy."
Luckily, today's maternity designers are tailoring clothes to grow with your belly, and the designs aren't only for women in their last trimester of pregnancy. Instead of unflattering jeans with a large, elastic panel stretching across the front, you can find jeans that can fit you throughout the various months. Many jeans have a soft, elastic band that can fit under your belly, rather than over it. Paired with one of the many tops in stretchable fabric that tie in the back, it may be hard to distinguish whether you are expecting a new bundle of joy or just keeping up with the latest fashions.
Just wanted to second the extra-long camisoles bullet! A lot of our customers are layering our best-selling extra long camisoles under their favorite tops or an unbuttoned blouse or sweater to keep their regular wardrobe lasting just a little longer.
Our long, stretch-knit-waist skirts seem to be a popular transitional choice, too!
