With all the odd symptoms of pregnancy, dizziness is often the most troubling. Human beings don't mind being dizzy – as is evidenced by the increasing number of hard-core spinning rides at amusement parks, but dizziness while pregnant is a whole different ballgame.
Cyn Balog, an events manager from Quakertown, Pa., was a bit concerned when the dizziness first struck her. "During my first trimester, sometimes I would stand up very quickly and get the spins," says Balog. "Or since I had bad morning sickness, sometimes certain smells would trigger light-headedness for me. Now that I'm getting bigger, I find my equilibrium is off and a few times, when I get out of bed, I'll be so dizzy I will almost fall over!"
Because there are so many causes for dizziness, there are many different things you can do to prevent it. |

Balog, pregnant with her second child, couldn't remember feeling that way during her previous pregnancy, but has realized that each pregnancy is different. This one will be remembered as her "dizzy" pregnancy. "I wasn't too worried because I've had so many odd symptoms to thank my pregnancy for, from carpal tunnel syndrome to bleeding gums, so I just assumed that it was because my blood supply was now feeding two humans instead of one," says Balog. "When I visited my doctor he said it was common and nothing to worry about."
