According to Dr. Thomas Lyons of the Center for Women's Care & Reproductive
Surgery in Atlanta, Ga., 90 percent of couples who are fertile and having
regular monthly periods will conceive within six months of trying.
Infertility is usually defined as not being able to get pregnant despite
trying for one year. According to the American Society for Reproductive
Medicine, infertility affects about 10 percent of the reproductive age
population, which is around 6.1 million Americans, with men and woman being
equally affected.
Many couples will struggle with infertility issues when trying to become parents. Although they may undergo medical testing to check for abnormalities, some never find a specific cause for their infertility. There are many things that can lead to reproduction problems, and some of those things can be found in and around your home.
