Pregnancy After Infertility or Loss

Grieving, but Still Hopeful

Short Stories About Pregnancy

I'm 42 years old, and I suffered a miscarriage at age 41.

Years ago, my husband and I were told that we would have to have IVF in order to conceive, but God is in control. I had just lost a large amount of weight due to a gastric bypass, and my health improved immensely. I began having regular menstrual cycles without medical assistance again but never in a million years thought I could conceive naturally.

I looked into having a tummy tuck since my husband and I had adopted a child and accepted the hand that was dealt us.

Lo and behold, in February of 2003, I realized that my normal PMS was is really high gear, and that something wasn't right. I mentioned to my husband that I should take a pregnancy test because I thought I was late for my period. He added that it would only be a false positive and get my hopes up again, but I purchased a test anyway.
