Have you ever known a love that you were sure wasn't love at all, but something much stronger? A feeling that consumed your every being. Have you ever lost that love and fell into a despair much stronger that the love you felt?

Some people are blessed with the gift of a child. These people raise their children and instill morals and values into them and teach them responsibility and show them unconditional love. And when the time comes they let them go and sit back and enjoy all that they as parents have accomplished.

Other people, though, carry a child and the child changes them and instills new morals and different values into their parents. The child is with them as they gain responsibility and maturity. They teach them of unconditional love and show them limitless possibilities. And just as the parents reach their potential, the child leaves with angel wings to a place where they can watch over their Mommies and Daddies and be proud of what they accomplished in their short but meaningful lives. Sometimes the child carries the parents and changes them.

My son did just that. He came into my life, turned it upside down and put it together completely different. Just as quickly as he changed me he was gone. At least in the physical sense, he'll always be a part of me, the best part. This is his story.

For every parent whose child made a short appearance in their life but made a lasting imprint on their soul, for every parent who survived the loss of their child: You are truly a god in your own way. May you be consoled by the helping hands of others, and may you find comfort in the words of friends.
