After I found out I was pregnant, I was so excited I couldn't contain myself. I told everyone. At 19 weeks and five days, my worst fear came to life. I awoke with light back pain and only a bit of bleeding. Of course I went straight to my doctor's office at 7:30 a.m. At 8:15 a.m., I was diagnosed with an incompetent cervix and was on my way, by ambulance, to the best NIC unit in our area (an hour and a half away).
At 10:30 a.m., my water broke and all our hope was lost – there was nothing left but to deliver what had become my heart. I delivered Lane at 2:20 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2002. She just wasn't ready to be a part of our lives, only our hearts. That angel changed my and my husband's lives forever, and I can never thank her enough.
We are now 13 weeks and four days into our second pregnancy. I say "we" because now this is truly a team effort. Lane brought my husband and I closer than I thought possible, and that made me love her even more. I cross my fingers and look to heaven and pray this baby will come home with us, and I can tell her/him all about our first angel, Lane.
I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL I LOST MY BABY ADRIAN AT 19 WEEKS AND 5 DAYS IT WAS HORRIBLE I HAD HIM NATURAL AND HE WAS ALIVE FOR 1 HOUR I HAD TO SIT THERE AND LET THEM TELL ME THERE WAS NOTHIN THEY COULD DO CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BABY WE ARE GONNA TRY AGAIN GOD WILL LET ME KNOW WHEN ITS TIME
