My husband and I decided to start trying to conceive in January of 1999. We had been together for five years and would be getting married in April so we figured why wait till after the wedding. Well, the months passed and nothing happened. In May, I just had a feeling that it was the month and I was pregnant. We had gotten married on April 21, and had a reception on May 7. I kept telling my husband I knew I was but he said no way, you're just working yourself up.
Well, my period wasn't supposed to come till the 20th of that month so I knew it was too early to test yet, but I knew it would be positive. On May 10, I fell and broke my foot and had to have an X-ray. The tech asked if I could be pregnant and I said yes, so they did a test. The nurse came back and said it was negative, but I told her I was pregnant and it just wasn't showing up yet. I was timing my cycle and knew that if I was pregnant I conceived on May 3. She rudely informed me that the test was accurate and this was not the month for me.
On May 18 I took a test and it came back positive! After four more tests with my husband standing by watching I knew for sure I was. It was the best day of our lives.
We just found out we are having a boy and he should be here in just a few short weeks. Shows how accurate a hospital test is!
