I was a week from delivering my son when my husband and I, who are car nuts, decided to go to the car show that was in town. We drove around for what seemed like forever, finally settling on a parking place at the bottom of the pavilion. Now, this is a really steep hill, but I had to pee really bad, and just wanted to get inside and in the bathroom.
As we started up the steep incline, I was in front of my husband. I walked a little faster with each waddle. As I got closer to the top, I realized something wasn't quite right, and with that thought, I tumbled backwards into my husband who was about 3 feet behind me. He tried to catch me, but couldn't move fast enough, so I ended up on my butt in front of everyone. I was wearing a sundress (it was April) and it ended up over my oh-so-big belly.
Sadly, it doesn't stop there. After getting applause from a few people I knew and many worried looks, I got to my feet and began going back up the hill. I still needed to pee!
Well, it went fine from there until it was time to leave. My husband and I had been at the car show several hours and it was getting dark and I wanted to go home and get into bed, so we started back down the incline. Lucky for me this time my husband was in front of me. But the momentum from my fast-paced waddling sent me tumbling once again, this time into the loving arms of my hubby. Once again I got a few worried looks and even a few claps. What a day!
Since my son was born we've attended a few more car shows at that pavilion, but I have yet to repeat the same funny instance since, and have decided no more downhill parking for me.
