When I told my husband I wanted to stop taking the pill, it was while he was shaving one morning as he was getting ready for work. As is his typical response to my female voice, he said, "Sure" and nodded his head. Not realizing what he had done, I immediately stopped taking birth control pills.

Two months later, the day before our scheduled vacation out of town, I found out I was pregnant. When I told him he was in so much shock he wouldn't, or couldn't, speak to me for three days into our vacation. Of course, he claims to not have remembered any portion of our conversation in the bathroom while he was shaving.

Once our son was born, not the how's or why's or how-come's – nothing else mattered but the fact that we had brought a beautiful child into the world.
