I worked throughout my pregnancy at our local hospital. Each day, as I got larger and larger, the walk from the parking lot to my office seemed to get farther and farther. The hospital has 2,400 employees, so the lot is quite large and even for the non-pregnant, the walk from the lot is a pretty rough go.
The summer was quite warm, with one week of solid 100s. I was late for work every day because, between the heat and the long walk, I couldn't walk very fast at all. I was getting angrier and more indignant until I finally marched into the office of the Vice President for Human Resources and yelled at him for not providing "Stork Parking." Fortunately, he had several children and took my behavior quite well. The hospital now provides one "Stork Parking" space for each lot.
