This is my first time ever being pregnant and everything scares me to death, and everything scares my mother past death since this is her first grandchild.
At 12 weeks pregnant I had just taken a shower and brushing my teeth always makes me want to vomit. I knew it was something that just had to be done; I could not get around brushing my teeth. As I predicted, I let it all out all at once but this time it was different; it appeared to be huge globs of blood.
My mom walked in and saw the sight before I could even scream for her to come comfort me. She immediately grabbed her jacket and told me to get dressed because we were going to the emergency room, which made me even more scared.
Once we got there I was immediately admitted because pregnant women are like first priority. I had the meanest nurse. She was rude and nasty. She ordered me to take off all of my clothes and jump up on the table. She asked me over and over what I had eaten that day. I eat so much I couldn't remember everything.
She then proceeded to ask me what the "blood" looked like and I told her it was dark red color and she said that if they suspected that I was bleeding internally then they would have to stick tubes in my nose and mouth. Being the scaredy cat that I am, I started to think really hard about what could have been going on. Since I didn't have any pain in my stomach or anything I eventually remembered a dark purple plum I had eaten right before getting in the shower. I felt so silly. Go figure!
