Ever since my husband and I moved in together four years ago, I have wanted a baby. But my husband kept telling me to wait. We always talked about kids in a year or so. So it surprised me one day when my husband asked me if I wanted to start trying to have a baby. I was so excited. We started trying that evening.
The next day at work, I looked at my calendar and realized that I had most likely been ovulating the day before. I started looking around the daycare center I work at and stressing out. I could be pregnant. I had lunch with my husband and we talked about my fears. We decided maybe we should wait a little longer.
That month my period started on time and I was not pregnant. We took extra care as to not become pregnant over the course of the next month. My period always starts on schedule so when it did not start on its normal day, I took a pregnancy test the very next morning. My husband was still asleep, when two little pink lines appeared. I started screaming and ran into the bedroom. The poor guy was jolted out of bed. It was a complete surprise to both of us.
Although we did not really plan it, I am pregnant. I am due October 26 (my birthday). We are both very excited. As for all those fears, I still get them every once in while but I realize that it will all work out as long as we are all together.
