What Happens When the Adoptive Mother Gets Pregnant?

Short Stories About Pregnancy

I found out that I was pregnant with my third child on December 31, 2007. It was a surprise. My husband and I had been separated for almost a year and were not planning on having a baby. We both have two children from previous relationships. It was a very hard decision but adoption seemed like a good option. Being a Christian I could not think of an abortion.

So about 13 weeks into my pregnancy I was introduced to Kenneth and Nicol. They were amazing. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful couple to adopt my baby. Then we found out it was a girl in May and we called her Lola. We continued to get to know each other and became good friends.

During this time my husband and I reconciled. He supported my decision to give the baby up.

I went into early labor in July at 28 weeks. I spent a week in the hospital and two weeks on bed rest. Nicol was with me the entire time. We made it through the premature labor and were excited for our August 30 due date.
