From Beach Babe to Busy Mom

Actress Jaime Bergman Looks Forward to Motherhood

Actress Jaime Bergman is looking forward to an old-fashioned motherhood. Bergman gave birth to her first child May 1, 2002, a boy named Jaden Rayne, and shared her views on pregnancy with iParenting's Editor-in-Chief, Elisa Ast All, while she was 6 months pregnant.

From Beach Babe to Busy Mom-Actress Jaime Bergman Looks Forward to MotherhoodWith her electric looks and striking sex appeal, Jaime Bergman, star of FX-TV's Son of the Beach, may not look the part, but she's just an old-fashioned girl.

Last November at age 26, she wed her husband, David Boreanaz, star of Angel, so they could celebrate their love and start a family. And they meant business: Bergman is due with their first child in May. Everything about their union has been a throwback to another era: She says when they met at a Valentine's party last year, it was "love at first sight," and they have been together every day since then; her engagement ring dates back to the 1920s; they were married at the Ingleside Inn in Palm Springs, Calif., known for hosting the biggest names of "Old Hollywood"; his wedding tuxedo was reminiscent of the 1940s while she could have been Marilyn Monroe reincarnated; and, in a departure from "modern" Hollywood couples, they made sure they wed before Baby arrived. And, despite their hectic schedules, their new life is coming together nicely.

Food is a big issue now that she is pregnant, and thankfully, morning sickness has not been much of an issue. The even better news is that Bergman was able to conquer her addiction to junk food – she actually ate up to two candy bars per day – and now dreams of healthy foods. "I crave vegetables and fruits, salad with ranch dressing or chicken noodle soup with cheese," she says. "No pickles and ice cream!"
