My husband and I have been trying to conceive for eight months so far. All five of my best friends have children, which also had a help in me deciding I wanted a baby.
When I first mentioned babies to him, it was after spending a weekend with his 3-year-old niece. (All of his little cousins are in love with him and he's perfect with them.)
"What do you think about children?" I asked.
"Children?"
"Yeah, kids. Babies."
He shrugged. "They're cool."
"Well, what do you think of us having our own?"
He looked at me and straightened up, as if joining this conversation for the first time! "Oh, uh, um, yeah, that'd be – uh, great!"
I showed him my ovulation calendar that I'd printed out at work and guess what? He showed up for the occasion every time so far!
