HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 1 January 2000!
35 weeks, 5 days and counting....
Well, I have decided to do a bit more of a daily journal that will get posted once a week. I have realized how much goes through my head, and I want a record of it :o)
I am very sure the Kid has dropped. My stomach looks much lower, I have more side-to-side mobility and the pain in my mid-back is almost gone. Monday is the big day -- MY FIRST INTERNAL EXAM!!!!! Man, I will be very disappointed if these BH contractions (which have been getting more intense) haven't done a thing. But, we shall see...
Today we went to Target and bought some post-natal necessities. You know, pads, panty liners for me, cotton balls and the all-important Vaseline and gauze for our "young man's 'old man,'" as Jon said. He is so funny :o)
I keep having these visions of the doctor telling us, at the birth, that our 'he' is really a 'she'! I don't think I have fully absorbed the fact that we are having a boy. I have no problem with having a boy, but when I found out I was pg I was sure we were having a girl. I am sure I will be over all the awkwardness once I see him and hold him!
Other than all that, I am just ITCHING for my appointment on Monday!

36 weeks! ACK!!!!!
Welp, I went to the doctor and the doctor said I am 1 centimeter dilated, and that's normal. Sigh. Our new fun goal is to have the baby born on either the 10th or the 11th. "Why?" you may ask. Well, if you can't have a baby on 1/1/00, what could be cooler than either 1/10/00 or 1/11/00? Lots of zeros and ones just look groovy :o) So, just for kicks and giggles we have set that goal. We'll see :o)
We went to the hospital to see the girl from our PCC who had a C-section. She had to have one because her baby was really, really. She was on bedrest and went to the doctor every week for a non-stress test. In the end all was great and her little boy was 6 pounds, 4 ounces! YEA! It was freaky to see a new little baby in the hospital -- I mean, soon that will be us!

Today I had an appointment at the dermatologist to have some moles checked out. I will have two of them removed on 10 February. It is hard to schedule anything and make plans when you don't know when the baby is coming! ARGH!
I have been thinking a lot about my firstborn, Lydia. Everything about her conception, pregnancy and birth is so different from this one. It is like a brand new experience. I can't get over it! I really find it a blessing, though, because Jon and I can be closer to the same 'level' in it all. We truly are going through this together.
It is so exciting! Man! It could happen any day!
Well, I am gonna send this off now before I forget AGAIN!
Love,
Amy & the Kid
