Amy H's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

September 16, 1999

Hello!

Thanks so much to everyone who has written on the response board. It is encouraging to know I am not alone. ;-)

Well, today is the day Hurricane Floyd stormed through Virginia Beach....and....did pretty much nothing at our house. It didn't even rain all that much, and the only inconvenience was having the power out for 5 hours. At least it was light enough out that we could read by the window!

While the so-called hurricane may have been dull and anti-climatic, DH and I had a really great happiness happen -- Jon felt the baby move for the first time!!!! He was soooooo excited! We have been trying to get him to feel it for about 10 days, but he just couldn't tell through the layer of fat on my stomach. The perseverence paid off, however, and he felt it today! DH got all excited and kept saying, "I felt the baby move! I felt the baby move!" Then he talked to my belly for a while, telling Squidgey Ian that he loves him. It was so neat to see him so excited. ;-)

On another note, I need to be a bit "graphic," so to speak. Is anyone else out there getting enormous boobs!????? Man! I was a 36DD to start with, and am now up to a 38F. Good grief, if I get any bigger I won't be able to balance myself! Jon looked at me the other day when I was changing and started to laugh - "Amy, those things are out of control!"

My mom was big, too, and it is a main reason she breastfed for only 2 months. She just couldn't stand it anymore.

Well, those are my very uppy ups and not-so-low downs for now! Talk to you again soon.....
