Amy H's Diary Entries

October 6, 1999

Well, well, well what a week!

My grandparents arrived for my sister's wedding on Thursday, my Aunt Bobbie and her husband on Friday afternoon, my Aunt Maureen and her daughter on Friday night. We were all squished in my parents' house, but the wedding was beautiful and worth the inconvenience and stress. Hillary and Dominic will be going on their honeymoon to Aruba this Thursday.

Wow, my sister and I are so different. While both of our weddings were strictly out of the prayer book, with no added anything, my reception was simply coffee and cake and lasted about an hour. We got engaged on Halloween and were going to marry on the next Halloween, but as I was going to wear a black dress, it freaked too many people out. We got married on All Saints Day (1 Nov), also known as The Day of The Dead. Our wedding was relaxed and wonderful. Hillary's was relaxed, but with so much more going on with the rented hall, catering, a formal rehearsal dinner, more relatives, etc, etc. We were both beautiful brides, though. ;-)

This has been a really great week, in the pg department, but horrible food-wise. With all the craziness going one we ate take-out or bagels everyday for five days and I feel like a toxic waste dump. I am hoping that this week will be better now that I can cook low-fat again. Also, Jon has been adorably talking to my belly, "Heellllooooooo! This is your daddy! I love you!!" It makes me feel so good to see how excited DH is about all this.

I had the weirdest dream the other night!! It was a breast-pumping dream, if you can believe it! I was having to pump because I had to keep an eye on a rail-road track being used by underground rebels trying to overthrow an evil regime. Since I had to stick around the track, I needed to pump so my DH could feed the baby. I used an Avent Isis (I have been researching pumps for the future) and with one squeeze an ounce of milk would pooooour out. It was soooooo weird because I actually remember how it felt in my dream!

I think the feeling is related to when my milk came in after Lydia/Nicole was born six years ago. I remember it hurt like hell. And, one day when I wasn't wearing a bra, I was leaning over something I was doing and milk just started POURING out of me through my shirt!!! It looked like someone had turned on a faucet. I had to put my hands on myself to make it stop!

Oh, yeah! I got pictures of my daughter and a letter about her on Saturday. She is really cute, and is an exact cross between me and my ex. She is very smart and also musical (music -- something she did NOT inherit from me!). It was cool to see how she is now at 6 years old.

Okay, on that note I will delve back into the world of pregnancy and attempting to not eat too much ice cream!

Ciao!

Amy and the Squidge

P.S. He just kicked a little 'hello' to everyone. ;-)
