Amy H's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 1, 1999

31 weeks! 9 to go! 31 January won't come soon enough!

Wow, I almost forgot to send this diary entry off. Phew! I am so forgetful.

Thanksgiving was good but hectic. That is all I have the energy to say. I hope everyone had a wonderful week!

We had our second Prepared Childbirth class last night. These particular classes are cool because they are given by a nurse who works with the OB practice I go to. So, all of her information pertains to how my doctors will respond and what thier philosophies are. I like that. I won't be given conflicting information. It is also really nice to be there with my DH. He is learning so much!

It does tend to be a bit weird because this isn't my first baby. And, these classes are usually geared toward first-timers. But, as this is my hubby's first and our first together, I feel really good about going and doing this together. He wants so much to do everything right!

We watched a breastfeeding video -- watching a woman hand-express milk from her boob was, well, unexpected and odd. Everyone in the class kinda went, "Ooooo!"

Today DH brought up the possiblity of Lydia looking for us one day. He actually hopes that she will! To be honest, I don't think about it all that much. I made sure she has pictures of her birth family and I send stuff to the office to be put in a file for her if she ever wants it. I wanted to make it easy for her to get the info she might want WITHOUT having to meet me if she didn't want to. But, it was cool to know that Jon would be into it if she did decide to search me out.

You know, everything about this pregnancy is completely different than with Lydia. I have a devoted DH, I planned this child, and we will be taking him home with us. It actually seems more stressful at times to know he will be here to stay.

On another note, I am happily doing my yoga. It just feels so good to stretch! I have resigned myself to the fact that I will gain too much weight in this pregnancy, and will have to deal with it later. But, I feel great doing the stretching, and I hope to be able to use the relaxation I have learned during labour.

Okay, I have potato soup on the stove so I had better run! Blessings to you all!
