Angela's Diary Entries

Introduction

25 weeks and 1 day!!

I have been feeling quite miserable the past couple of days. I got a cold that is being passed around amongst my in-laws. Last night, I woke up at 2 a.m. because I just couldn't sleep with my sinuses and my sore throat aggravating the heck out of me. I could not get comfortable at all so I watched TV until a little after 5 a.m. and had something to eat (lately I've been getting hungry again during the night). When I finally attempted to go to sleep I just tossed and turned until it was time to get up. I'm so tired right now and I think the only benefit was that I could see how it would be when the baby gets here. I think I will spend my lunch hour taking a nap. And I'm sure by the time you read this I will be well again, God willing.

Christmas was wonderful! We spent a lot of time running around to different functions with family and I ate heartily. It was a very relaxing weekend and I'm sorry that it's over. I didn't have to cook because we were going to DH's aunt's house at 7 p.m. and it would have been way too much food to try to consume. She had a feast fit for a king; it was amazing. New Year's Eve we will be staying in and probably just having dinner and renting a few movies. We have my nephew's 5th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's on Friday because he will be going back to England soon and I don't believe they have one there. He is so cute, he constantly asks me about the baby and he wants to know what it's doing and what it eats. He even talks to my belly! When he called me yesterday he asked me if the baby was sick, too, and I told him that the baby was fine and that only I was sick. I just thought it was the sweetest thing.

The baby is doing well and has not been as active since I got sick but will kick after I eat something. My hips have been a bit sore and my lower back is aching. My hands and feet are a bit swollen but not noticeably. I did have my wedding ring resized from a 5.5 to a 7 because it was cutting off my circulation and I refused to not wear one. I didn't want people looking at me like I was an unwed mother. I'm proud to be married and pregnant. I also need to get a humidifier because the air in our bedroom is so dry and I wake up with a bloody nose all the time. I think we are going to Target tonight to get one.

I think that I will be in extra large maternity shirts soon; most of mine are large but they will probably only last another month. I swear there is more than one baby in there. The pictures I posted don't really show how pregnant I look but I will post some more where you can see it a little better.

And remember I said I was going to get a part time job? NOT!!! I just couldn't possibly do it. I'm told to rest while I can before the Bunchkin gets here. I will certainly try to do that and a bunch of other stuff that may be difficult to do with a baby. My husband wants to go and visit his sister in Canada in February or March but I don't know if I can travel so close to my due date. Has anyone out there traveled close to their due date? I guess I should ask my doctor, too.

My baby shower from my relatives in Connecticut is being planned by my sister and my cousin. I will certainly be pleased with whatever I get. My girlfriend Liz asked me if she could throw me a shower here for my in-laws and friends and I think that my sister is going to help her with that one, too. I'm sure as I start to get baby stuff it will become more real to me. Besides DH buying those little Baby Gap dresses, we haven't purchased anything for the baby.

Since I'm not feeling so hot today, I am going to keep this brief. I hope that you all had a Happy New Year!! Let's hope that Y2K chaos hasn't or doesn't occur. May God bless you all in the new year.

Until next time,

Angela and the Bunchkin :)
