January 2, 2001
10 days to go (officially due on the 12th) and I'm so disappointed I
couldn't get G to come out on New Year's Day.
It's not like I didn't try ...
On Saturday, DH and I walked for at least two hours around a flea market and did some last minute errands in preparation for the baby. I had a few BH tightenings but nothing resembling painful contractions. I swelled incredibly from all that walking. I took my ring off while I still could but didn't notice that my watch was cutting my circulation off. It's the metal type that snaps open. When I felt pain in my wrist I looked down to see it digging into my arm like a rubber band. I could barely get it over my hand. So, I've switched to an old leather adjustable band watch and an old silver ring that has always been big.
On Sunday we cleaned the house and put away all the Christmas ornaments. We moved most of the baby's things to our room (my stepdaughter is taking over the baby's room for a while). And I packed part of my bag. We went out Sunday night for New Year's and ended up at my brother's house playing around on Ebay. We all left early and we were on the road at midnight! Oh well!
On Monday, January 1, I cleaned the kitchen, finished packing and cross-country skied for about an hour around the neighborhood while Ron followed/walked behind me. I had to go up some good hills and fell on my butt going down one. Thank God he was there; I would never have been able to get up on my own. I actually enjoyed myself, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. In all, it was about a mile. My tummy muscles are a bit sore and I do think it has caused G to drop, but I'm still not in labor.
I do feel as though my BH are a bit more intense, although I'm still not
feeling any pain. I feel an ache occasionally but nothing significant. When
I walk I definitely notice them more often. I really think I dropped. I
don't look like it, but I'm feeling a lot more pressure right above my hip
bones, a real heavy feeling.
I've had several talks with G now, but he is not listening to me. I am sooooo ready for him to come out now, pain or no pain! My theory: The reason women are PG so long is so that when they get to this point, they are not concerned with the pain, but are just so ready to rid their body of an ever-growing parasite. The best part is, the growing parasite is an adorable baby all their own. It's a genetic miracle as well as a soul filling experience. I have been lucky enough to allow God to give me this baby when he felt is was best. I've waited years and years to be in this situation. Thank you God for bringing me my wonderful husband and giving us a child together!
Anyway, I hope I have something to report to you soon!!!
