Happy New Year! This is the year I'll become the mother of two. I can't wait. I have three and a half months to go. I was talking to Greg about it this morning. He said that he thinks the pregnancy is going very quickly. I, on the other hand, have mixed feelings. I can't wait to hold my little girl, but I also know that this will be the last time I am pregnant and I want it to last as long as possible.
Christmas was wonderful. I love spending time with my family. I went shopping the day after Christmas and my mom and I went nuts in the baby department. I bought quite a few outfits and sleepers. I remember doing that when we found out that I was having a boy when I was pregnant with Brendan. It is so exciting. Of course, I'm hanging onto all of my receipts just in case, but I couldn't resist.
I have had the week off due to the holidays so I have been working on the potty training adventure with Brendan on a full-time basis. I think I'm driving him crazy. I don't want to push him too hard, but it would be wonderful if he would be out of diapers by the time his sister arrives. He also got his new toddler bed yesterday. It's a wooden fire truck bed that was given to us by some relatives. Brendan loves it. He won't let us call it a bed. We have to call it the fire truck. He wants to be in it all day long. He wants me to sit in it with him, but I heard Greg telling him that I'm too heavy for it. He said, "Mommy is heavier than Daddy right now." That really made me feel pretty. Ha.
We celebrated New Year's by watching some wonderful fireworks at 8:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Main. They did an early show for those of us with kids that had to get them to bed early. Then Greg and I stayed up until midnight and toasted the new year with sparkling grape juice. It was our 10th New Year's together. I can't think of anyone I'd rather spend it with. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband and our family. We have been truly blessed!
