31 weeks, 4 days

I realized I accidentally said I was at 32 weeks last Friday when I posted. Whoops! Wishful thinking I guess.

We had an exciting weekend. Brendan attended his Big Brother class on Saturday morning. The class was intended for 3-5 years old. I think Brendan was the youngest one there. He did well, but he got a little distracted. The teacher asked what babies do when they're first born and the kids were all shouting things out. One said that babies poop. Then the teacher said that babies poop, that everyone poops. Brendan piped up and said, "My daddy does!" Everyone laughed. They watched a video about jealousy and the teacher told them how babies come of out the mommies. I've told Brendan about my c-section with him so I think he was a little surprised at the instructor's description of a vaginal birth. She also showed them what a c-section was like, which was nice. The kids also got to see a birthing room and the nursery of course. Brendan said his favorite part was seeing the new little babie. He also wants to ride on the moving bed when I'm in the hospital.

Last night Greg and I went to our first VBAC class. My friend Pam watched Brendan for us so it was almost like a date for us. The class is small. There are five couples. Everyone is so nice. The instructor hasn't had a c-section, but it's nice to get her perspective on a vaginal birth since that's what we're all hoping for. She divided us into groups right away. The dads discussed what they learned from the c-section and what they learned about their wives during the first birth. The moms discussed what the liked and disliked about the c-section. Our list of dislikes was much longer than the list of likes. One of our likes was that we could sit down without pain after the birth. Oh, and babies with nice shaped heads. We were really searching for nice things to say. Our biggest like was that our babies were healthy. We ended the class with some breathing exercises which was relaxing, but I always get the giggles. Next week we will be doing more breathing and discussing birthing interventions. I hope that we discuss c-sections as well as vaginal births since our possibility for a c-section is always there. I have experienced a c-section, but I do have some questions about having a second one. I'll bring the questions up next week. I don't know if Greg is going to go with me. We have Wild hockey tickets for next Monday night. I'm split between going to the class and the game, but it's our last night of class and I don't want to miss anything.

I see the doctor on Friday so I'll post again if I get any exciting news.
