Anne B's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 6, 2001

38 weeks

This will be my last entry until after I have the baby. That's so amazing. In three days I'll be holding my daughter. Wow! I'm excited, but I'm also becoming very sentimental. This is the last few days that I will ever be pregnant (unless I can talk the hubby into baby number three, which isn't likely). And this is the last weekend that Brendan will be my only baby. I want to spend some quality time with him before all the excitement begins.

Today was my last day of work. It was pretty laid back. I went out for a wonderful lunch with some of my coworkers and then I left early. My boss walked me out and gave me a hug and told me how much they will miss me. She told me to call her when I'm ready to come back and we can work out a schedule to ease back into things. I think I'll go back half days for the first week. But I don't really want to think about it now. I know it will be so hard to go back after only 12 weeks.

I saw my doctor on Thursday and we are still all set for the c-section. He checked to see if I was dilated at all, but there is absolutely nothing going on. He also said he was surprised that my scar tissue has become so thin in just a week. He said he'll be interested to see what's going on when he goes in on Monday. That's something you don't want to hear your doctor say when he's examining you, "interesting."

So that's it. My mom is coming on Sunday so she'll be here for Brendan when we go to the hospital on Monday morning. I go in for the prep work at 10:00 and I'll be in the operating room at noon. I hope to be out of the hospital on Thursday. Wish me luck!
