It's been so long since I've written. Having two kids is a lot more time consuming than one. I am so busy! But I absolutely love it. Ashleigh will be two months old tomorrow. I can't believe time has gone by so fast.
I am a little sad everyday because I have to go back to work on July 2. I am really dreading it. I wish we could afford for one of us to stay home with the kids. And on top of it all, our current daycare provider has decided that she won't be open on Fridays. Since we both work five days a week keeping our current daycare was impossible. I did find another daycare that is a bit of a drive, but my friend from work also uses the daycare and loves it. When we met with Lynn (the new provider) she was really nice and her house is wonderful. I am a bit concerned about the number of children she cares for and the fact that she has three dogs (cocker spaniels). I will probably keep looking for something closer to our home, but in the meantime I know my kids will have a safe and loving place to be when I have to be at work.
Ashleigh has her two month appointment with Dr. Wilkes on Monday. I am dreading it. I want to know how much she weighs, but she has to have four shots (maybe five). That just breaks my heart to hear her cry. I am insisting that Greg go to the appointment with me so that he can help hold her. I just can't do it. I feel so guilty looking into her little face as they poke her.
Ashleigh is also getting over her first cold. She got it from me. She was so stuffed up and sniffly. We got the Little Noses drops and had the humidifer running and she is doing much better now. Brendan had a mild cold too. Greg seems to be the only healthy one in the house.
Brendan is still adjusting to being a big brother. He is usually very nice to Ashleigh, but he can be awfully rough. He always wants to rub her head, but he does it a little too vigorously. I have noticed that he takes his anger and frustration out on me rather than his sister. He is constantly talking back to me and testing me every chance he gets. I try to be patient and keep in mind that he's only three. Time outs haven't been working so I've resorted to taking away his favorite toys. He hates it and it seems to be doing the trick.
Well Ashleigh is waking up and I know she'll be hungry! I'll write more later.
Oh, I created a web page for Ashleigh. Please visit and sign her guestbook. I'm going to be posting more pictures there soon.
