Anne B's Diary Entries

November 7, 2000

16 weeks, 4 days

Election Day! Finally. I am so glad that after today I won't have to endure all the negative campaigns that are constantly on TV and the radio. Greg and I went to vote right after my doctor appointment today.

The appointment was just the usual. We got to hear the baby's heart beat which is always great. It was 140 bpm today. Dr. Cunniff says it sounds perfect. He also made me get a flu shot. He said that I am in a high-risk group since I'm pregnant. I'm in the same group as the elderly. You would think that after all my fertility injections it would be no big deal, but it hurt! I also had my blood drawn for the triple-screen test. I hope everything turns out normal.

I get to have my ultrasound on Dec. 8. I can't wait. I want to see that everything looks OK. And it's so amazing to see the chambers of the heart and the blood pumping through the heart. I'm going to bring Brendan with us so that he can peek at the baby too. I don't know how much he will comprehend, but I would like him to be included.

Not much else is new. I spent the weekend with my in-laws, which is always interesting. It didn't go too badly. But Greg and I had a talk about the fact that we should be making decisions together. He is always making plans for us without consulting me. I feel like I'm losing control over what goes on in my own house. I think we should make decisions together. It was a good talk. We talked about how his family treats me, which isn't always the best. I didn't want to sound like I was attacking his family, but there were things that had to be said. I hope things improve a bit. We'll see.

That's it for this week!
