(I posted 2 entries tonight, one dated 8/1. So if you want to read about the second half of the first trimester, go there first.)
15 weeks!
Well, I’m feeling better than the first trimester, although I’m still tired. The past few days I’ve been able to eat a lot and actually feel full. It’s so great to be able to eat again. Today we went to RibFest and sampled all the different ribbers and voted for our favorite. I was so glad I wasn't nauseous anymore.
We’re continuing our quest for baby items, although after several posts on my board about avoiding used car seats and cribs, we’re considering buying new. No great bargains recently, although a friend of Jason’s at work gave us a set of baby monitors.
We’re getting ready to paint the baby’s room. I found a beautiful wallpaper border featuring a Noah’s Ark scene and now will pick paint and carpet to match. I’ve never redone a whole room in my house, so I thought a baby is a perfect excuse!
Yesterday was our 6th wedding anniversary. We went golfing on a church get together, and I almost died from the heat (despite preparations of water, sunscreen, and a hat). I’m surprised I made it through nine holes—I am not very in shape. Plus, the course was very hilly—several holes went up and down. Then in the evening (after a nap to recover from golf) we went to a local baseball game—some semi-professional (but nowhere near minor) league. Our city lost, but it was a fun game anyway. I had the announcers make a special “Happy Anniversary” announcement to Jason from me, and they did it in the sixth inning.
Our dog Cricket needs so much attention. If we go somewhere after work and then go on the computer and don't play with her, she gets so mad! Last week she pooped on the kitchen floor twice. So we’re trying now to be really dedicated in playing with her and taking her for a walk every day. When we have the baby we’ll have to make one of its naptimes “Cricket time” or I think she’ll go nuts. Anyone else have a dog before they had a baby? Any advice would be appreciated!
Becky
