Today we had the ultrasound, and it went very well. We had a new lab tech so it took a little longer, and a more experienced tech came in to check her measurements. The new person was very nice though, and made sure we were comfortable, and let us look at the baby a lot before she took all the measurements.
I measured within about 2 days of my previous due date (1/30). The new tech measured the baby at 2/1 and the more experienced one measured it at 1/30. I had been going with Jan. 30 as my “official” due date and Feb. 1 as my more likely due date, so no change there. The baby was moving the whole time, the lab tech kept saying this one would keep us busy.
And now the news you've all been waiting for...
The sex of the baby was entirely inconclusive! This was not a big surprise to me. I was sure that since we were so sure we wanted to know early and were willing to tell people early, that the baby wouldn't let us see. During the ultrasound, the baby was moving its arms and legs but stayed very curled up in a fetal position the whole time. So we'll have to wait five more months to find out.
One of my good friends is pregnant and due only 10 days later than I am. She had her ultrasound today and she found out she’s having twin girls! She’s happy but a bit overwhelmed. At least she has awhile to prepare.
