30w5d? (I think)

I have hit my eighth month! Time is beginning to fly! We had originally been concerned about Jay's due date, because Tommy has a manager's conference in Orlando that usually falls at the end of January. Then we were told that this year the conference runs February 2, 3, 4, and 5th. Uh-oh. With my due date being Feb 14th, coupled with the fact that they told me they'd induce at 38 1/2 weeks, this was not good. We were looking at a Feb 4th induction date. I tend to have rapid labors, and this is my third, so... I didn't mind holding off on inducing for a couple of more days, but I had great concerns about going into labor on my own while he was gone. Thankfully, we've just received word this week that Tommy is cleared to miss the conference, so he will certainly be home for the birth of Jay! Whew! (I can make light of it now, but I was truly worried for a couple of weeks there...)

We had a 3D ultrasound yesterday, and got some really good face shots of Jay. The technology is incredible! We were able to tell that he has some hair on his head, his has fat little cheeks already, and his face appears to be heart-shaped, with a pointy little chin. It was really unbelievable. We were able to take a videotape to record the event also. I ended up getting a 2-for-1 deal because the sonographer did the ultrasound and forgot to record it, so she gooped me up for a 2nd time and started all over with the tape playing this time! It turned out that some of the best pictures we got were those taken during the 2nd try, so I had no complaints! Really neat stuff. This was not a diagnostic u/s; it was just for pictures and "fun", so we didn't get any estimated size or weight or anything of that sort. However, the good news that we learned from his position is that he is head-down and will most likely stay that way! Yay!!!

We also did a good bit of Christmas shopping yesterday afternoon. We have taken care of my kids completely, and also bought for Tommy's kids. I can't elaborate much there, as they sometimes read my diary, though! We are finished with both our parent's gifts, as well as Tommy's siblings. We have only a newphew and a couple of gifts for friends' children, and we are finished!!! I FINALLY finished decorating outside yesterday evening. Our tree is still bare except for lights, which is really pretty pitiful. But I am just plain tired and Tommy is just plain working a lot of hours. We'll have the tree finished by this weekend, I suppose. (Hey, that's still a week and a half before the big day!) We still have tons of wrapping to do, too. I've never been this far behind... kinda sad, isn't it? But, then again, I've never been 8 mos. preg, had a 2 yr. old and 4 yr. old, AND lived apart from family during this time either. (I'm trying to convince myself that it's going to be okay...)

We just got a new printer/scanner yesterday. I have no idea the quality of scans it produces, but I am going to TRY to scan some pictures and post them on our website. Hopefully I can get up some of the kids' glamour pictures from their old daycare, as well as the 3D u/s pictures. I'll post the link on my TTM board if I'm successful.

Just in case I don't make it back to update before Christmas, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, however it is that you celebrate!
