25 weeks, 15 to go!!!
Happy Mother's Day To Everyone!!
To All-Mommies-To-Be,
I hope that all of you had a wonderful Mother's Day with your mothers and also with your significant others. My sweet DH bought me some flowers with a cute little note that said, "Happy First Mother's Day, Love Always, Jason and Jaydon." It melted my heart. Unfortunately though, my flowers died an hour later after leaving them in the car that was probably 100 degrees while we ate lunch. We called the florist where he got them and they said they would replace them, so that's pretty cool. Yesterday (Mother's Day), Jason's mother, father, sister, cousin and our niece all came over to cook out on the grill. We had so much food, so once again I probably gained another 2 pounds. We had steak, ribs, chicken, green beans, mac and cheese, bread and grilled corn-on-the-cob. I was stuffed the rest of the night after I got done, but I still found room for a piece of Oreo cookie cake.... oh the joys of eating while pregnant.
In my last entry I had mentioned Jaydon's movements (oh, by the way we changed the spelling from Jayden to Jaydon, in case anyone is wondering) and how his movements had changed so much in a week. I had gone 24 hours without feeling him, so I called the nurse, she called back to tell me to start a kick count, and to call her at 4. Well, she ended up calling me back and told me to go up to L&D to have a non-stress done. I think that is what it is called. Anyway, I went up there and ended up leaving feeling like a fool. I swore to my DH and the nurse that I wasn't feeling any of his movements and then Jaydon made a liar out me when he was moving all around on the monitor, but even then the nurse kept asking me if I had felt them, and I still wasn't. When the test was finally over, and after feeling two movements down real low, the nurse said that he just found a new crevice to get into and I just can't feel him as well. I was so relived, but oh so embarrassed. What can I say -- I'm a young mother-to-be, experiencing all these "firsts" for the first time. So our little one is doing quite well and we go back to the doctor next Monday (5/22) and we will also be scheduling the glucose test, and another sonogram. Anybody know what the difference between an ultrasound and a sonogram is -- or if there even is one?? Let me know, I'm very interested.
Last week I also had called my doctor about flying next month to Gulf Shores, AL to see my grandparents and asked him if it would be OK. My doctor -- being the old-fashioned guy he is -- said that it would be better for me not to go, even though I will only be 28 weeks. I was crushed; I had looked forward to this trip for a few months now, and was very sad to hear that. Well, after some of the messages on the board, advice from chat rooms, and lots of research I have decided to go ahead with my plans. I feel horrible for going against his orders, but feel that I will be OK, considering I will only be in flight for one hour and will return in four days. I researched air travel while pregnant for about two hours Friday and found that every doctor or nurse says that it should be safe up until your 32nd to 34th week, as long as you are not high-risk, or not feeling well at the time of travel. Does anyone think that I am wrong to go against my doc's orders? Once again, please let me know. I'm still a little torn and I have to buy my tickets now.
Oh by the way, DH and I went back to that gameroom where he had won $200, and I won a stereo last Friday!! It is a pretty nice one, too.
See ya next week!!!
Chevie and Jaydon
