29 weeks, 11 to go!
Well, it seems like I have been gone for weeks and had to read my last entry to see where I had left off before going on vacation.
I mentioned that I had a doctor appointment that day. It was like the last few have been -- uneventful. They weighed me in and were proud that I did not gain any excessive weight. The doc said that I should be gaining about 1-3 pounds now every three weeks. I gained 2 in three weeks at the last appointment. He checked Jaydon's heartbeat and is was about 139 or so, if I remember correctly. He also stated that I am measuring right on track and everything else looks great. My next appointment is on 6/19 and then will have my ultrasound on the 22nd. I can hardly wait to see Jaydon on the screen again. He has gotten so much bigger since the last time I saw him so I am prepared to see a drastic change in his appearance. I am going to ask the tech to scan over the private parts to make sure that he is definitely a boy and wasn't using his cord to trick us last time. :) So just a week to go before I get see my little one again!!
Well, my vacation was not all that I had expected, but I still had a lot of fun. It did though put a huge toll on my body. I have not been swollen yet during pregnancy, but that all changed when I hit the coast. My grandfather has a beach house in Gulf Shores, AL, so the saltwater air had an effect on my feet and ankles. The first day that we were there we went to the beach only to find out that there had been a shark attack that morning. I still went and played in the very shallow end, just getting my feet and legs wet. My DH was crazy enough to go out about waist deep. They told us that the water was off limits but that didn't stop anyone there on that beach. Everyone was still in the water despite the shark that had bitten two people, leaving a man with one arm!! They had reporters and news cameras there all day long interviewing people on how the whole thing happened. I still had fun though. I felt a little down when I glanced around at all the women in their bikinis and tight little bodies, and unfortunately caught DH checkin them out too... I simply told him that next year I will look better than all of them put together and I will then have all the men staring at me instead. :)
On Saturday we went to the dog races in Pensacola, Fl. and had a blast there, too. It was the first time that I had been and couldn't figure out how to place a bet for a while. I won a little here and there but mainly lost quite a bit. My DH would have won $1000 if he had betted correctly. That mistake made us both very ill. Sunday, I lazed around on a inner tube tied to the pier at my grandfather's house and caught a few rays. I feel better about myself and appearance just being a little darker. It seems when you are pale you feel fatter, or at least that's the case with me! Monday, we flew back in town and I started coming down with a sore throat. When I went to bed that night my whole body hurt and I felt lousy. I could also tell the airplane ride had an effect on me. I felt so weird. I didn't go to work Tuesday because my body still hadn't recovered from the trip. Word of advice: Try to get all your vacationing out of the way around the second trimester. I also do not recommend flying because it made me very nauseated and dizzy. Flying usually doesn't have this effect on me, but being pregnant makes it completely different.
Well, I will talk to you all next week. I'm getting very drowsy right now and I think I need a nap. Will talk to all of you again very soon.
Take Care, Everyone!
