October 10, 2000
Well, I'm back, but I don't know for how long. I'm hoping to start my baby diary real soon. I don't have a scanner so I'm unable to attach pictures with this update. I will be mailing some, though, to the wonderful people at iParenting and hopefully they will be able to help in getting his pictures posted. So on to my update of our wonderful son, Jaydon.
Jaydon is 7 weeks today (Oct. 10) and is developing a very cute personality to go along with his looks. At his last appointment, about two weeks ago, he weighed in at 11 pounds, 4 ounces, and measured 22 inches. All in all, he is growing like a weed. I breastfed Jaydon for about five weeks and then made the difficult decision of quitting. Jaydon latched on every time but it seems I wasn't producing enough milk and I was also coming back to work.
In one of my last entries before his birth, I shared with everyone that I wouldn't be returning to work, but my company called me with an offer I couldn't refuse. They gave me a raise and they also allow me to bring Jaydon to work with me so that I am able to see his new developments with each passing day.
Speaking of development, he can now smile, coo, and has also discovered his hands and legs. He is such a wonderful gift to us. I love him more and more every day. I can't believe that he already almost 2 months old. It is kind of depressing how fast the time goes by, and I, like many other women, miss being pregnant. My husband says that I bitched so much during my pregnancy, he thought for sure I would be glad that it was over and may have been through having kids. Well, he is wrong, I loved being pregnant and the experience of giving birth. Since my labor and birth were not difficult at all (5 hours with 20 minutes of pushing), I look forward to the experience again. I have been trying to record every new thing Jaydon does but sometimes I just completely forget to.
Well, I hope to start my baby diary real soon, but until then I will update here. I am also hoping to have a lot of pictures posted soon.
I hope that all you preggos out there are feeling well, and if you're not, just remember what you have to look forward in the end. Also, I would like to welcome all the new writers and congratulate them on the prospect of becoming mothers and also congrats to the ones who have just given birth to their precious bundles of joy. Till next week, everyone take care.
Lots of love,
Chevie and Jaydon
