Chevie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

Introduction

Wow! You would not believe what I have been through just to get this entry in. I typed my whole entry yesterday but then had to leave suddenly and didn't save it so I lost everything. So I guess I'll start over and hopefully this entry will find you all well.

Jaydon is now 2 months old and is getting cuter everyday. He loves to smile and laugh now too. Every time I change his diaper he just grins as wide as he can at his mini-mobile above his changing table. He makes a habit out of this routine every time he gets changed. It's pretty neat that he already remembers that the mobile is there every time and immediately smiles. Jaydon had his 2 month check-up this past Monday and weighed in at a whopping 13 pounds and measured 24 inches. I can't believe how fast he is putting on the weight and growing. Before I know it he will be walking and talking!! I wish I had a scanner so that the whole wide world on the net can see just how adorable he is. One of these days I'll get around to trying to hook up an old one of my boss's.

Speaking of my boss, one of the guys I work for brought a present to me today. It was a baby pillow with "Jaydon Lee" embroided on it. I believe it was made by his wife. It is very pretty. So far everything has been smooth sailing at work since Jaydon has been there with me. He usually just naps and swings. Fortunately he is not a "high needs" baby and is very content and happy. My bosses are impressed with how little he cries. I usually feed him when I get there, play with him for a while and then put him in his swing and he falls asleep. We continue this routine throughout the day and it works out great so far. The guys are getting attached to him so when I don't bring him with me they get disappointed. I am very fortunate that I work for wonderful people that allow me to care for my son and get paid to work. I don't know if I have mentioned it but when I came back I also got a nice raise. So things are going great for me and the little man right now and hopefully will continue to do so.

We get to see my stepson Brynden this weekend. We have been getting him every other weekend since Jaydon was a week old. We didn't get to see him the whole entire time that I was pregnant so he was pretty surprised when we pulled up with a baby. His mother had told him that he had a brother because she had seen the baby when we had to go to court. When I first found out that I was pregnant last Christmas, Brynden told us that he wanted a baby sister and not a brother. When he first looked at the baby he had a funny look on his face, then looked at us and said he didn't mind that it was a boy. My DH and I couldn't help but laugh. He helps out a lot with Jaydon, too. He always asks if he can measure the formula out and dump it into the bottle. So all in all, we have a new baby helper.

By the way, I got Jaydon's Halloween costume the other day. He is going to be a dinosaur. The outfit is pretty simple since it is made for an infant, but still very cute. It's purple and green and has a hood with the dinosaur face on it. It also has the "spikes" on the back along with a tail. We are going to carry him in a small neighborhood children's Halloween parade where my mom lives. I can't wait to get pictures. My mom also wants to take him to Olan Mills photography and get his Halloween pictures done. I need to remember to make an appointment today.

I finally got Jaydon's newborn pictures back. They turned out really good. I wasn't expecting them to be that great but I was fooled. Jaydon was real red and puffy his first couple of days so I thought that it would show up bad in his pictures. His complexion and face look adorable, though. Like I said before, I will try to get some pictures up sometime or another.

Well, I think that is about all for this week. Will update you all next week on Jaydon's ever-changing development. Till then, take care.

Love,
Chevie and Jaydon
