Introduction
Week 40
1 day left: due date 12/25/2001
Well, I'm still alive. I apologize for not writing in so long. There has been so much going on and we haven't had internet access for over a month to top it all off.
I'm going to make this really quick, but my cat, Ditto, had to be put to sleep on Oct. 2nd. I wound up crying hysterically for about a week. My mom came to visit me from Oregon for 3 1/2 weeks which was great, but while she was here a hose in the dishwasher broke flooding the whole house and basement with an inch of water and Stefan was at work. So we got to clean up the whole house ourselves and put all of the furniture on stilts until the floor was dry. After 14 hours of drying, we still weren't finished. The insurance will cover the damage. Amazingly enough, the only thing that was damaged was our hering-bone-design parkett floor in the living room.
Then we switched our telephone and internet access to a digital system and my FIL lost the instructions on how to install it and it has taken until today to get it up and running. But it's great and super fast!!
So, the pregnancy.
I've been having very strong Braxton-Hicks contractions and the baby has dropped and I lost my mucous plug last night. I am tired and have a cold and can't sleep anymore. But I'm enjoying the time the best I can before I meet little Baby H.!!!
People keep calling and asking "So?? Is the baby there yet?" I love that they are thinking about me/us, but it's absolutly driving me nuts. I'm anxious enough as it is and this doesn't help.
I've been drinking some Chinese tea that is supposed to increase the intensity of the Braxton-Hicks contractions and it has helped!! The baby dropped (almost) completely within a week. The tea tastes TERRIBLE though. Plus I've been drinking raspberry leaf tea misture that is supposed to help the cervix soften and make the birth much easier. I really hope it helps!!
So, sorry this wound up so short, but I still have a ton to do tonight, since it's Christmas Eve and the Germans celebrate tonight big time!!
Take care,
Cindy & Baby H.
