January 1, 2003
We didn't have any special plans for New Years Eve. We decided to just go to the hospital and visit your grandpa. There is really nothing to celebrate. Grandpa John is starting to do better and if everything goes okay he can come home on January 2 or 3rd. Lets keep our fingers crossed. They started doing brain radiation two days ago and they say everything is looking promising. That was nice to hear. Your grandpa is getting so tired of fighting and of being in the hospital. He says the only thing good right now is your impeding arrival. I have to agree with him.
After visiting your grandpa mommy was in a sad mood so your papa said lets rent some movies, get pizza, then sit back and relax. I must admit that was just what I needed! I was in a much better mood after laughing for 120 min or so.
I actually stayed up to midnight and we toasted to our new baby (with grape juice but, hey it was still fun). Before going to bed for the night we read a book I have about your growth. According to the book your heart should now be beating and your organs are beginning to form~ how neat! As of yesterday I was 5 weeks pregnant and the only sign of you is my frequent trips to the bathroom and how easily tired I become! I am looking forward to our journey to one another.
Sending Happy Times to you all,
Dawn and baby,
