Dawn L's Diary Entries

January 2, 2001

17 weeks

This is the week of my BIG SONOGRAM! We're all going. Kirt is taking the day off since it's Friday. Afterward we're going to my mom's to tell her what we're having, calling a few buddies, e-mailing my friends online, then heading for San Antonio for a long weekend. Grampa's still there and I think Kirt is excited to get to tell him in person what his great-grandchild will be. The next time he comes down will be when we're due/having the baby. So we may not see him as much.

I wasn't going to mention weight, because I am overweight, so I'm not very concerned one way or the other, but I thought I should so I can look back and see what happened in all aspects not just the pleasant ones. So, at this point ... I've lost 11 pounds. I don't think my doctor will mind since it's been slow and steady. I didn't gain any weight at all with Baylie until 6 months, then I gained 30 pounds by week 41. I'm sure that's what's happening now. I also think that because of the morning sickness, etc. I have a new, smaller appetite. I find that I only eat about half of what I used to eat and I'm full. I think it's good all around. I have no doubt I'll gain those 25-30 pounds, but at least I'll be down by 10 or so when I do. I'm still wearing all my normal clothes, which I guess is fine. It seems like all the girls on the due in June board are all really showing, so I'm a little bummed. I know that's coming inevitably too, though. I'm sure once it does I'll be bummed about that eventually! Well, I'll have big news next week, so I'll see you then!
