February 4, 2001

21weeks, 4days

We've had a very busy week last week. With me going to the hospital, having an appointment on Friday, and going to San Antonio, I'm tired. On top of that Baylie seems to be getting sick. We were up late last night, and early this morning, so I thought she was grouchy because of that. But at church she continued to cough and seemed warm. After church I took her temperature and got her some cough medicine. Hopefully after some nedicine and a good night sleep, she'll feel better. Tomorrow's dance and I don't want to miss it again. She missed last week because I had to go to the hospital.
My mom also found out she has Thyroid Cancer. She was all clear of cancer for the last five years, but this doesn't seem related to the first illness. She'll have to have a very risky surgery to remove the mass and her thyroid soon. After the surgery she's supposed to be in ICU for a few days. This has been really hard on her. She had to stop her medicine that keeps her pain because it thins the blood and she already has problem with clotting. This will be a hard time for everyone in our family. We are especially busy the last few months before my due date too. I hoping she won't miss anything.
Anyway, at my doctor's appointment I asked about having my membranes stripped so labor would (hopefully) start on it's own before she has to induce me at 39 weeks. She said it would only work if I was already dialating on my own.
My blood pressure was 128/72 which is up from last time, but still not high enough to worry about. I gained 3 pounds, but had lost 10, so I'm still down by 7 pounds. That's good. I also found out I should start feeling movement constantly by 30 weeks. So after that I should notify her if it seems to be decreased. I have an appointment on March 1st @ 2:15 at 25 weeks. the one after that is supposd to include the GTT (diabetes test). That's never fun...
