25 weeks
I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon. I was worried I had gained like six pounds last week, but when she weighed me it was the same as my last visit. So I guess my scale at home is broken. I'm really not all that worried about the weight, but six lbs. in one week seemed a little much! So now I'm at 6 lbs. gained. I had lost 9, so I'm still down by three pounds. I really have grown in the past week. I lost my belly button even more. I won't be surprised if I have a bit of an outie by the end of all of this. I'm measuring right at 25 weeks, so that's good. Camryn's heart rate was in the 160's. Dr. Parr said she was really active. She has been really moving up a storm. It's almost gotten uncomfortable now when she beats up her poor Mom!
I went in with a long list of questions, mostly about labor and what's routine for their practice. I found that she's just as interested in me having the labor I want as I am. My plan is to try to go as natural as possible. I'm not ruling out an epidural, I'm just not planning on one as soon as I walk in like last time. Dr. Parr agrees that I shouldn't suffer. We won't know until labor how I will feel. It may be really fast and easy, or it may not be. I really love my doctor though. I told her I had bought a big ball to sit on during labor and she was cool about it. She thought it was a good idea. I've been talking to Kirt about what I want during labor. I'm now giving him a crash course in natural labor. I think the more he knows, the more comfortable he'll be with the things I want to try to relieve pain. The doctor also said I didn't have to get an i.v. if I didn't want an epidural. But that they would have to poke me to draw blood. That's fine with me. She also said there wasn't a point
that was too early to get an epidural, but there was a definant time that was too late for one. I got lots of info, so it was a great visit.
My next appointment is March 22nd at 8a.m. I'll have my glucose test. After that I will go every two weeks! Cool. Time should really fly by!
