Dawn L's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 20, 2001

27 weeks, 4 days

Yes, I'm doing ANOTHER entry!!! On Saturday Kirt, Baylie and I went to the store for a few things and then to the home improvement store to get a closet organizer. We weren't there very long, then we went to Chic-Fil-A to eat and let Baylie play. I was in the middle of talking when I started having the most painful abdominal pain I ever felt. I told Kirt to get Baylie that we had to go home now. They goofed around getting her shoes on, and I told them to hurry up! I went to lay down in the van. By the time I got home the pain was a little more bearable, but I wasn't going to the hospital unless I was dying after the other day. I immediately went to bed to sleep for a little while. When I woke up I felt better, but the first time I stood up all the pain was back. It was about 30-45 minutes before I called the doctor. She wanted me to come in to be checked. She said It could be all kinds of things.

Once I got to the hospital, I was supposed to give a urine sample. I told her I couldn't could I try later, but she wanted one even if it was a few drops. So I tried. I produced very little then went on to drop it on the floor. I salvaged like two drops. How embarassing!

They ran blood tests, did an abdominal scan, did an ultrasound of the baby, and monitored to see if I was having contractions. The baby was fine and still very fiesty. After all those tests, everything came back normal. They said they couldn't explain what the problem was, so I went home. So far I haven't have the same pains, but I've been extremely sore. Maybe I was stretching, I don't know.

The ultrasound tech said it was probably Camryn beating me up from the inside because she was SOOO active! While she was trying to measure her she went from having her head down by my right leg and face up, to head down by the birth canal, face down! Then she flipped back over! What a gymnast! We also caught her in the act of boxing me! She had her little hands up by her face and she was punching me! I couldn't believe it. The tech wasn't very informative, but I did see that her head measured exactly on the dates, but her belly was a week ahead. It said her weight was 2lbs, 4 ozs! I thought that was so exciting!

Anyway, I hope my next entry will be after my appointment on Thursday. Hopefully we won't have any more trips to Labor & Delivery.
