Dawn L's Diary Entries

28 weeks

Today I had my Glucose Tolerance Test. I think I did okay. It didn't taste as bad as I remember, but I was a little loopy afterwards. I couldn't focus very well and I felt really "duh". The doctor said I should probably lay down, but I wanted to get to school, so I told I was fine.

Anyway, I think it was a good appointment. I didn't ask any questions, but I found out I haven't gained any weight. (Yeah!) I was a little surprised, because I'm so hungry all the time... So the status on my weight is that I lost 9 lbs, and gained 6 back. So I like to say I lost three. I'm not doing anything different to keep the weight down, either. If I notice I start gaining a lot I will watch what I eat. I don't want to gain a lot all of the sudden. With Baylie I gained 30 pounds, but not until after 24 weeks. The doctor says I'm doing great.

I told Dr. Parr I think I had a growth spurt since last visit, and she said "You sure did!" I'm measuring 30 weeks, but I'm only 28 weeks. Last visit I measured exactly 25 weeks and I was 25 weeks. So I grew a lot this time. I'm glad, because I hope that means if I continue, I'll have another sonogram to see her size, and be induced earlier. She's already said I could be at 39 weeks, so I'll definantly go around then.

My blood pressure was 120/72, so that was fine. I now go to the doctor every two weeks. I think things will really fly by now. My birthday is tomorrow. I'll be the big 27. It feels like I'm so much older than 26 was. I guess because it seems closer to 30 , which, I know, it is...

I have my first baby shower on April 1st! Flying by, man. My next appointment is April 6th.
